It is no longer a possibility to run a for profit effort of any substantial size without being fully involved with computers. The internet has made location almost of no significance when it comes to making a purchasing decision, but it has added complexities. There are a number of strategies for handling these issues, so why are so many companies choosing cloud servers hosting services?

To get to the answer, it is instructive to contemplate how we got to where we are now. In what now seems ancient history, communication between companies was handled either through snail mail, telephone calls or meetings. All of these solutions are either cumbersome slow or in the case of phone calls, inadequate for sharing data.

The digital age has opened a new means of communication that allows nearly face to face capability without the travel. With this ability comes a deluge of additional information to help companies analyze and perfect their craft. This accumulation of data comes with benefits, and unintended consequences.

Looking back on the introduction of desktop computers, it feels as if it happened overnight. Forms, templates and research are instantly available and modifying them is as easy as typing a page. If the boss is traveling and one needs an answer, no problem; he can respond to an electronic mail at his leisure.

Much to the chagrin of employees, travel is no longer the primary way to meet with counterparts. Working with a project team from your cubicle is now a possibility no matter where the other team members are located. With all the information digital, collaboration no longer requires paper, or the time and expense of printing and mailing it.

With all the great news about networking and interacting over the internet, the problems seemed to sneak up on corporations. Just as when filing cabinets used to fill with outdated or unmanageable copies of work, the problem now was with an excessive accumulation of bits and bytes. Enterprise has an insatiable appetite for information, and even though it is digital, it has to be stored somewhere, and that costs money.

For each individual on the team, the amount of storage, backup and protection of the stored information was the same, requiring replicate suites and software. The digital answer had created a new version of the old problems, how to keep everyone on a non-collocated team updated in real time. The answer is a new way to store, display and distribute information.

A paradigm shift was needed to look at how to centralize information while decentralizing the work done on the data. The solution is to have a central server that all users have access to simultaneously, so changes are immediately updated, visible and accessible by all. Why are so many companies choosing dedicated cloud server services? The answer is this new process for commerce is simply more efficient and saves money.
